Top Father Daughter Songs |Tyler Arboretum Wedding

August 14, 2020

The Father Daughter dance is one of my favorite parts of the wedding day! The song says EVERYTHING about your relationship. Do you want to slow dance or do you want to rock out?? Here is a list below of my favorites.

1. “You Are the Reason” – Calum Scott

That “I’m not leaving you, Dad” song. This is that slow song that gets you in your feels and makes all brides tear up. I don’t put down my camera until the bride is sitting at the sweetheart table because there are hugs upon hugs. I had chills writing this journal entry while listening the song. I’m also obsessed with Callum Scott so theres that too.

2. ” How Sweet It Is” – James Taylor

James Taylor knows how to make the mother of bride cry. Every time this song comes on, I point my camera right at the mom to get that priceless reaction. I always want to tell the mom to get up and join the dance!

3. “Isn’t She Lovely” – Stevie Wonder

This song is the perfect set up for a twirl, am-i-right! It’s not too slow, not too fast and you both 100% know the words

4. “I’ll Be There” – Jackson 5

For the Daddy’s girl! The dad that came to the rescue for every flat tire, the dad that cooks a bomb breakfast, picked you up all those late nights at your friends house. Cheers to you, Dad!

5.“Sweet Child O’Mine” – Guns N’ Roses

The perfect Father Daughter dance to start the party! It’s definitely a competition between you and your groom on who had the better dance song. This one will definitely put that competition to rest. Caution: Air guitaring may take place

I know since I am a Maryland wedding photographer, you expected something country on this list. Well…since I am from outside of Philadelphia, I am new to the country scene. Maybe I will write a follow up list dedicated to my country lovers! Thoughts?!

Have a song you think should be on this list, leave a comment! – xoxo

Ohhhh those are good ones! Looking to start a country list? My suggestion: “I loved her first” by Heartland. LOVING reading the journal!
